Every year at the grand midsummer feast at the Arborea Urbanus covenant the 5 local villages deliver their tribute to the Magi: The first child born on or after the spring equinox. This has always been a secure source of apprentices (and covenfolk) for the covenant and have kept the covenant firmly allied with the locals.
The last 3 years the village of Fox Hollows haven't attended, and now the council have found that it is time to investigate.
This is a rules-free Ars Magica scenario with pre generated characters. A classic bunch of magi, companions and grogs way out of their comfort zone trying to solve the problem of why the annual child sacrifice isn't brought forth to the covenant."
