Whitby Abbey location and Geography
In Yorkshire at the mouth of the River Esk stands a lone abbey. The abbey sits on a headland bounced by cliffs to the South East and the River Esk to the North.
These Cliffs hold a number of caves once used by pre-Hermetic cults, smugglers and criminals. But since 1230 these caves have been occupied by a group of Magi from the Order of Hermes.
These Magi, primarily Jerbiton from the Rhine Tribunal discovered a Magical regio within.
The proximity of a very pure Dominion aura in close proximity to a strong Magical aura was considered a useful place for researchers to study the interactions between two conflicting auras.
The cave entrance can be reached by footpaths from the sandy beaches at the mouth of the river and the Regio entrance lies deep within the caves where they also uncovered a Romano-British ritual sites.
